January 2022 Update: as per the Iredell-Statesville School district, masks are required inside all ISS schools. An exception has been made for players who are actively moving on the court for practices and games: they are not required to wear a mask. Spectators and players on the bench, however, are required to follow school policies and wear a mask.
From the Iredell-Statesville Schools Lead Nurse 1/11/22:
If an athlete is a close contact from a community exposure, they are required to be excluded from school and sports for 5 days after exposure and then are REQUIRED to wear a mask for 5 more days. If an athlete is unable to wear a mask or does not want to wear a mask while playing, they would be required to sit out their remaining 5 days.
If an athlete tests positive, they are allowed to return to school after 5 days of isolation, but they are REQUIRED to wear a mask for 5 more days after their isolation. If an athlete is unable to wear a mask or does not want to wear a mask while playing, they would be required to sit out their remaining 5 days.
Thank you for adhering to these rules which we agree to in order to use the school gyms.
Masks are currently optional at Stumpy Creek Park and our other ballparks at this point. We recommend all families wear a mask anytime they are within six feet of someone outside their circle.
