*Our fall season is an instructional program to get players ready for spring baseball*
All 7-12 yr olds are expected to attend.
Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to sign your child in. Your child needs a glove at minimum, and if possible, their own bat and batting helmet to prevent the spread of germs. PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD'S EQUIPMENT. If your child cannot attend, he/she will be randomly placed on a team.
** T-ball players need not attend Skills Day; you’ll be contacted separately.
Skills day is a fun day at the ballpark, as players run through baseball drills. Coaches use these drills to divide players evenly during the draft. Carpool requests will be reviewed, but please understand, player ratings and the draft process are what determine team placement. Not all requests can be granted; it’s not mathematically possible. SIAA’s goal is to have well-balanced teams; ideally, each team will have a 50/50 win/loss record.
Drafts will take place after Skills Day, and practices may begin the following weekend.
Practices
Teams will practice 1 or 2 times a week at first. Coaches will attempt to schedule practices from available time slots to accommodate as many players as possible. Once games begin, practices will be scheduled as available and typically not be more than once a week.
Most practices are held at Woodland Heights, Lake Norman Elem, The Brawley School, or Stumpy Creek Park
Games
Games will run through the end of October, finishing with playoffs. More details will be posted after the leagues and county reps meet.
Sponsors
Every team needs a sponsor; help us find them by asking businesses you support to support youth sports in Iredell County. Quite often, companies have money set aside for charitable contributions, and simply need to be asked.
